Pilates

Pilates is a low impact form of exercise that strengthens, lengthens and tones your body. It focuses on working the intrinsic muscles creating stability, balance and proper postural alignment. Pilates is the ultimate conditioning program for creating a strong core, mobility and flexibility. The benefits practicing Pilates are many, and people from all walks of life and various states of fitness experience positive results from doing it. People over the age 50 find that the low impact work allows them to workout without putting too much stress on their joints. Athletes are able to increase flexibility, range of motion, hip stability and overall core power.  For those that sit at a computer for most of their day Pilates is a great way to relieve the stress put on the spine that come from sitting for hours at a time. Many people come to us with chronic pain, low back, shoulder and hip issues and find that we are able to help alleviate that pain. We have often been successful in doing so when physical therapy and other programs have failed.

  • Classes


Mat

  • Mat class is the basic "floor" work of Pilates. We use some equipment (small weights, magic circles, etc.), but no reformer or other large pieces. This type of work focuses on building the strength of the abdominals, hips, back, and glutes...all the areas that we consider the "core." Mat class is typically the most challenging for the majority of our clients.

Pilates Circuit

  • Our Pilates circuit class is designed as a well rounded Pilates workout. This class utilizes several different pieces of equipment including reformer, cadillac, wunda chair, etc. Clients rotate through stations on the various equipment to perform different exercises. You will get a well rounded Pilates style workout with this class.

Pilates Blast

  • Blast is similar to circuit, but with a cardio emphasis. This class can get fairly intense and is designed to get you huffing and puffing. We add some TRX and strength training to make a full body circuit style workout that will kick your butt!

Pilates Reformer

  • Reformer class is small group training dedicated solely to reformer work. This is a generally low impact workout that helps build flexibility, strength and proper alignment. Reformer work also has a substantial therapeutic value that will leave your body feeling relieved and refreshed. This is not a high intensity workout, clients have learn how to focus on their bodies and what it is the exercises are trying to accomplish to gain the most benefit.

Private Session

  • Private sessions are for those who want or need some one on one attention. The sessions are designed for individual needs, and also allow us to focus on any weaknesses, limitations or otherwise unique issues you may have. One on one time allows us to get to know you and your body better so that we may help you in the best way possible.
